Big Deal Monday

Big Deal Monday comes at you after having a great time at the NIC Conference in Chicago last week.  No doubt, many deals were cut at that event which will turn into future big deal announcements!   But, here are some recent transactions of interest:

Aviv REIT announced the acquisition of a skilled nursing facility in Greenville, Kentucky with a purchase price of $4.6 million.  The property will be operated by Diversicare under a triple net lease – and this is the 13th facility eased from Aviv REIT by Diversicare.

Summit Healthcare REIT acquired two skilled nursing facilities in Lamar and Monte Vista, Colorado for a combined purchase price of around $8 million.  This is Summit’s first foray into Colorado.

CNL Lifestyle Properties bought two assisted living communities in the Atlanta, Georgia market for $33.6 million.  The Oaks at Braselton is a 46-unit assisted living facility that also contains 34 memory care units.   The Oaks at Post Road is slightly larger, with 64 assisted living units and 36 memory care units.

The biggest deal, though, comes from Sabra Health Care REIT, which acquired 21 independent living facilities from Holiday Acquisition Holding Corp. affiliates for $550 million.  The deal involved 2,850 units spread across 15 states – all private pay.  The properties will continue to be operated by an affiliate of Holiday.
