Are Urban Markets Losing Their Appeal for Seniors’ Housing in the Age of COVID?

By John Ruffier: Senior Housing News recently published a fascinating article looking at whether fears of increased risks of exposure to COVID-19 in densely-populated urban areas could change the market dynamics that have been favoring more urban locations and make smaller cities and suburbs more desirable.  While we’re not convinced that one pandemic will cause a shift in the market, if similar outbreaks become more common occurrences, we may see a significant geographical shift and new opportunities for smaller cities to thrive as senior living locations.
